Know Your Emerging Leaders
Recently I have coached more than a dozen emerging leaders who are also millennials. They are ambitious, curious and hungry for opportunity to learn and grow. They want to make a contribution and yet, they aren’t necessarily willing to wait for 2-3 years to see the fruits of their labor. They want meaningful experiences, and to be rewarded fairly, yet they don’t seem to obsess with upward mobility. They work hard, but want to have time to play and enjoy time with family and friends. From my observations, these emerging leaders are looking at things in a way my generation never did.
While my primary focus at Margules Leadership Consulting is with executives, the experience of working with emerging leaders is providing me with valuable insights into the next generation of leaders. With these insights I have honed some new thinking on how executives can get the most out of these leaders and prepare them for the future.
